LEGO Technic 42082 Rough Terrain Crane

LEGO Technic set 42082, “Rough Terrain Crane”, depicts a rough terrain crane as a detailed mechanical model.

The model represents a lifting vehicle intended for difficult ground conditions, with a driver’s cab, rotating superstructure and crane boom. Within Technic, it belongs to the construction vehicle area, where the emphasis is on mechanisms, motion transfer and functions built from technical elements rather than on character based play.

The build uses many familiar Technic parts, including beams, axles, gears and body panels. Known functions include outriggers, superstructure rotation, a raising and telescoping boom, and a winch, with Power Functions components integrated into the model.

Set 42082 is suited to builders who want a substantial Technic project focused on mechanics. The finished crane can be displayed as a construction vehicle or handled to operate its functions. Among Technic sets, it is best placed as a crane model defined by its rough terrain subject, functional density and large mechanical structure.
