LEGO Technic 42157 John Deere 948L-II Skidder

LEGO Technic set 42157 represents the John Deere 948L-II Skidder, a specialized forestry vehicle. Released in 2023 in the Technic theme, the 1492-piece model focuses on a mechanical build of a working machine rather than a character-based scene.

Set 42157 is based on the John Deere 948L-II Skidder, a forestry machine associated with moving logs. Within the Technic theme, it belongs to the group of realistic work vehicles and licensed machinery. The John Deere connection is explicit in the official English set name.

The model contains 1492 pieces and no minifigures. The French retail title refers to pneumatic functions and 4 wheel drive, both fitting the Technic emphasis on mechanisms and vehicle behavior. The build is therefore centered on the machine’s structure and functions rather than accessories or named characters.

This set is suited to builders interested in technical vehicles, forestry equipment, and licensed machinery models. It can be displayed as a detailed work vehicle or handled to examine its functions. Among Technic sets, it stands out through its specialized forestry subject rather than a more common road car or general construction machine.
