LEGO Star Wars 75253 Droid Commander

LEGO Star Wars set 75253, Droid Commander, was released in 2019 with 1177 pieces.

Droid Commander belongs to the LEGO Star Wars theme and puts droids at the centre, rather than a ship, location, or battle scene. The subject fits the licence closely, as mechanical companions are a recurring part of the Star Wars setting. Within a Star Wars collection, the set has a distinct role, with more emphasis on mechanical characters than on vehicles or scenery.

The 1177 pieces are used for the droid builds and their exterior detailing. The building experience can be described in general terms as focused on shaping, surface detail, and the recognisable appearance of the finished droids.

This set is suited to Star Wars fans who value droids for play, display, or collecting. Compared with many sets in the same theme, it does not revolve around a specific scene or a minifigure lineup. It can sit alongside ships and locations while adding a different focus on the saga’s mechanical characters.
