LEGO The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings 79007 Battle at the Black Gate

LEGO set 79007, “Battle at the Black Gate”, depicts the confrontation outside the Black Gate of Mordor from The Lord of the Rings. Released in 2013 under the The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings theme, it contains 656 pieces and 5 minifigures.

This model represents a key location from the closing part of The Lord of the Rings: the Black Gate, the fortified entrance to Mordor. Within the The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings theme, it serves as a battle setting for the standoff between the heroes and Sauron’s forces.

The build focuses on dark, fortified gate architecture rather than a complete fortress. The set includes 656 pieces and 5 minifigures: Aragorn - Dark Red Cape, Gandalf The White, Mordor Orc, Mordor Orc - Helmet, and Mouth of Sauron. Its wall and gate elements provide a clear backdrop for the scene, while the minifigure selection anchors the model in the encounter at Mordor’s entrance.

It is suited to display, character focused play, and collection building within the The Lord of the Rings range. Among sets from the same theme, it stands out as an exterior battle location rather than a domestic, interior, or vehicle based subject.
