LEGO Monkie Kid 80036 The City of Lanterns

LEGO 80036, The City of Lanterns, depicts an illuminated urban setting from the Monkie Kid theme. Released in 2022, the set contains 2187 pieces and presents a dense city scene with shops, characters and street life as its focus.

The City of Lanterns has a distinct role within Monkie Kid because it builds a broad city environment rather than a single vehicle or isolated action scene. The model gives the theme a civilian setting, with room for everyday activity, character interaction and visual references to an animated urban district.

The build uses 2187 pieces and includes 9 minifigures: Mr. Neck Bracket, and Mei, Bright Green Jacket. Its content is centred on varied façades, interior suggestions and small city details that support multiple scenes.

This set suits display as well as story based play, especially for collectors who want a populated location for the Monkie Kid cast. In the context of the theme, it works as an urban anchor, balancing vehicle driven action with a place where characters, residents and service figures can meet.
