LEGO Technic 42040 Fire Plane

LEGO Technic set 42040 Fire Plane was released in 2015 and depicts a firefighting aircraft. With 578 pieces, it belongs to the Technic theme, where structural building, mechanical layouts and vehicle based models are central to the design.

The model represents an aircraft used for aerial firefighting. Within Technic, it sits among realistic vehicle subjects, using the theme’s construction language rather than a character driven scene or a licensed setting.

Its build is based on the familiar Technic system of beams, axles and connectors, creating an open structure with a clear aircraft outline.

It is suited to builders who want a Technic aircraft with an emergency service theme. The completed model can be used for play, displayed as a service aircraft or placed in a collection of technical vehicles. Among Technic sets, it offers an aerial rescue subject rather than another ground based machine.
