LEGO Technic 42042 Crawler Crane

LEGO Technic set 42042 “Crawler Crane” depicts a crawler crane, with the focus placed on visible structure and mechanical construction.

Set 42042 is based on a crawler crane, a lifting machine carried on tracked running gear. Within Technic, it belongs to the construction machinery side of the theme, where the model is defined less by minifigure play and more by framework, movement and mechanical layout.

The build uses the Technic system of beams, axles, connectors, gears and track elements. Its 1400 pieces form a recognizable crane with a tracked base, upper crane body and boom.

This set is aimed at builders interested in Technic mechanisms and heavy construction equipment. It can serve as a display model because of its distinctive crane profile, while still inviting hands-on handling after assembly. In a Technic collection, it sits among work machines rather than road cars, racing models or character-based sets.
