LEGO set 71701, Kai's Fire Dragon, depicts Kai’s fire dragon from the Ninjago theme. Released in 2020, it contains 81 pieces and presents a compact scene focused on Kai, his dragon, and Lord Garmadon.

Kai's Fire Dragon is a Ninjago set built around Kai and the fire dragon associated with him. The subject fits a familiar pattern in the theme, where elemental ninja characters are paired with creatures that reflect their powers. In this set, the focus is narrow and easy to read: Kai, a fire dragon, and Lord Garmadon as the opposing figure.

The model uses 81 pieces, so the build is positioned as a small and direct representation rather than a large display piece.

Within the broader Ninjago theme, 71701 is best viewed as a concise Legacy related character set. It can complement a collection focused on Kai, Garmadon, or dragons without requiring a larger model.
