LEGO Star Wars 9516 Jabba's Palace

LEGO set 9516, “Jabba's Palace”, represents Jabba’s palace in the Star Wars theme. Released in 2012, it contains 717 pieces and focuses on a scene built around characters associated with this criminal residence from the saga.

Within the Star Wars range, set 9516 is based on a location rather than a vehicle. Jabba’s palace provides an enclosed setting for captivity, bargaining and the court of a crime lord, giving the model a clear narrative role within the licensed theme.

The set includes 717 pieces and 8 figures or characters: Chewbacca, Jabba The Hutt as a big fig, Oola, Han Solo in a white shirt, a Gamorrean Guard, Bib Fortuna with cape, Boushh, Princess Leia in disguise, and the B’Omarr Monk. This line-up gives the build a strong character focus around Jabba and his palace.

It suits Star Wars collectors who want a displayable location, as well as builders interested in character-led play. Among sets from the same theme, it is best understood as a palace scene with Jabba at its centre, rather than as a ship, speeder or battlefield model.
