LEGO BMW: the complete catalogue of motorcycles and race cars

Deep dive 8 min read By the Setobrick team

LEGO BMW is a short list: our database holds six sets, two motorcycles and four cars, spread between 2013 and 2026. The big prize is the Technic BMW Motorrad M 1000 RR with 1,922 parts. The set we would look at first is the 2026 BMW M4 GT3 EVO Race Car.

Six BMW sets exist in our database, and only two are motorcycles

Six sets carry the BMW name in our database. That is the whole catalogue, and it is thinner than the brand's reputation suggests. Two sets are motorcycles, four are cars. They sit in three themes: Technic, Speed Champions and Promotional.

The range runs from 2013 to 2026, with no yearly rhythm. One set in 2013, one in 2017, one in 2022, one in 2024, then two in 2026. If you were hoping for a long shelf of BMW models to collect, this is not that.

Technic holds three of the six: 42130 BMW Motorrad M 1000 RR, 42226 BMW M4 GT3 EVO Race Car and 42063 BMW R 1200 GS Adventure. Speed Champions holds two: 76922 BMW M4 GT3 & BMW M Hybrid V8 Race Cars and 77263 BMW M3 (E30). The last one, 40200 BMW Racer, is the Promotional outlier.

The sizes run from 30 parts to 1,922, with one clear giant

Prices are launch retail prices, in dollars and pounds. They come from different years, so they do not compare cleanly. Read them as context, not as a shopping list.

The spread in size is wide: about 1,900 parts separate the biggest set from the smallest. Between those two extremes the middle of the catalogue is tight. Four sets sit between 358 and 747 parts, which makes the choice there about subject and theme rather than size.

The M 1000 RR is the flagship, and its sale window has closed

42130 BMW Motorrad M 1000 RR is the only BMW set above 1,000 parts. It has 1,922 of them, about 1,200 more than the next largest set in the catalogue. It is a Technic set from 2022 with no minifigures, which is exactly what a motorcycle model should be.

Its launch retail price was $249.99 / £214.99, by far the highest of the six. Our database shows it on sale from January 2022 until July 2026. That end date is earlier than today, so this one is no longer a straightforward purchase from the sale window we can see.

If you want one BMW set to display and not just to build, this is the one. Nothing else in the list competes with it on presence.

The R 1200 GS Adventure is the older and smaller bike

42063 BMW R 1200 GS Adventure arrived in 2017 with 603 parts and no minifigures. That is about 1,300 parts fewer than the M 1000 RR, so do not treat the two as interchangeable. They are both Technic motorcycles, and that is where the similarity ends.

Its launch retail price was $59.99 / £54.99. Our database lists the sale window as January 2017 to December 2018, a short run that ended long ago.

It is the only adventure bike in the BMW list and the oldest set that is more than a promo. For a collector who wants both BMW motorcycles on one shelf, it is the cheaper half of the pair when it launched, and the less showy one.

Two M4 GT3 sets: one in Technic, one as a pair in Speed Champions

42226 BMW M4 GT3 EVO Race Car is the newest Technic BMW. It has 747 parts, no minifigures and a launch retail price of $64.99 / £59.99. Our database lists it on sale from March 2026 with no end date.

76922 BMW M4 GT3 & BMW M Hybrid V8 Race Cars is the Speed Champions answer. It has 676 parts, two minifigures and two cars in the box. The launch retail price was $44.99 / £44.99, and the sale window ran from March 2024 to December 2025.

The Technic set has about 70 more parts and gives you one car. The Speed Champions set gives you two cars and two drivers for a lower launch price. Which one wins depends on whether you want a single, more detailed car or a small race pairing. For pure value on paper, the Speed Champions box is hard to argue with.

The M3 (E30) is the newest and cheapest, and the 30-part Racer is a curiosity

77263 BMW M3 (E30) is a 2026 Speed Champions set with 358 parts and one minifigure. Its launch retail price was $29.99 / £22.99, the lowest of any BMW set with a listed price. Our database lists it on sale from August 2026 with no end date.

It is the only classic road car in a catalogue otherwise full of race cars and bikes. That alone makes it the odd one out, and for many fans the most interesting.

40200 BMW Racer closes the list. It is a 2013 Promotional set with 30 parts and no minifigures. Our database holds no launch price for it, so we say nothing about cost. It is a footnote, not a purchase plan.

Pick the bike for display, the M4 for the track, the E30 for the shelf

For a centrepiece, choose 42130 BMW Motorrad M 1000 RR, and check its sale status first since its window ended in July 2026. For a motorcycle on a smaller scale of ambition, 42063 BMW R 1200 GS Adventure has 603 parts and an older, quieter appeal.

For a car, the choice is between 42226 BMW M4 GT3 EVO Race Car for the Technic build and 76922 BMW M4 GT3 & BMW M Hybrid V8 Race Cars for two cars at once. Only the first has no end date listed in our database.

For the lowest outlay and the only road car, take 77263 BMW M3 (E30). Skip 40200 BMW Racer unless you collect promos.

Our take

The BMW range is small, but it is not lazy. It covers a superbike, an adventure bike, a modern race car, a pair of racers and a classic M3, across two themes that do different jobs. The weakness is the lack of continuity: gaps of years, and the best bike already past its sale window. Of the six, 42226 BMW M4 GT3 EVO Race Car is the easiest to recommend today, and 42130 BMW Motorrad M 1000 RR is the one to want.
